Type sv on the train. Everything about SV cars - how it is deciphered and what it is like on the train, photos and other materials

Anyone who has ever thought about traveling by train could not help but learn about the SV train, especially if they wanted to make their trip special. After all, such a class has long been associated with comfort and high-level service. It’s no secret that this method of travel is not cheap, and in order to decide to buy a ticket, you need to have a sufficient amount of knowledge about it. And if there is a need for them, then this article will tell you about the features of such cars and answer the main question: “What is this - an SV train?”

Seat carriage

The seating carriage has free-standing soft chairs with armrests. It resembles the interior of an airplane or intercity bus, but there is much more space. It is better to take a ticket for a seated carriage when the trip lasts several hours. This way you won't have time to get tired. These are, for example, daily express trains between Moscow and St. Petersburg or Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov.

Seated carriages vary greatly in location and number of seats, as well as in classes of service. Therefore, there is no single scheme for them. The figure shows, as an example, a diagram of the carriage of train No. 102Ya Moscow - Yaroslavl.

On Tutu.ru in the “Trains” section there are seat maps for many seated trains, including the popular “Sapsan” and “Lastochka”. When purchasing a train ticket (on the seat selection page), the direction of travel is indicated for some trains. This allows you to choose comfortable seats so as not to drive backwards.

How are they deciphered by classification?

For IVs used in passenger transportation within the country, a division by service class has been introduced. It determines not only the list of services provided, but also the layout.

Explanation of abbreviations:

  • 1B – business, includes air conditioning and additional services;
  • 1E – SV (VIP);
  • 1E – option 1B or 1E with reduced cost;
  • 1U – 1st class comfort level, but with a minimum set of additional services;
  • 1L – SV without additional services.

Purchasing tickets at the 1B ticket office involves purchasing the entire compartment (from this calculation the cost of the ticket is determined). Microclimate parameters are maintained by the air conditioning system. The package of additional services includes food and drinks, the latest newspapers, and the provision of hygiene products. Transportation of a container with small pets is provided.

Seats 1B are also available on branded trains of the Russian passenger railway carrier ZAO TKS. Tariff plan 1B "Business TC" implies the provision of a range of services, including:

  • meals along the entire route (breakfast and dinner);
  • hot drinks (tea, coffee, chocolate) and mineral water;
  • fresh printed publications;
  • bed sheets;
  • slippers;
  • travel kit - napkins (sanitary and paper), comb, toothpaste and brush, cream and shoe horn.

The compartment has a TV and free Wi-Fi. There is a safe and individual sockets for powering mobile devices and laptops. A magnetic card is used for access.

Seats 1E are available on high-speed Strizh trains on the routes Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow - Berlin. They are air conditioned. For the safety of passengers, security is provided; control is carried out using video monitors.

What's in 1E? The dry closet, shower and washbasin are located directly in the compartment. In addition, individual sockets, a TV, and a safe are installed.

The fare includes meals, drinks, drinking water, bed linen and a traveler's kit (sanitary products and shoe care products).

Ticket 1E implies the purchase of the entire compartment (for 1 or 2 passengers).

1e - includes the entire set of services 1E or 1B. The only difference is that the passenger does not buy the entire compartment, but one seat in it.

The 1U service conditions correspond to first class, however, all additional services (except bed linen) are purchased by the passenger separately. Persons who purchased a 1L ticket also receive the same conditions. The main difference is the absence of a dry closet.

For your information! All passengers are allowed to carry small pets in special containers.

On international routes you can purchase tickets for carriages of the RIC layout. According to the conditions of first class (analogous to SV), there are 10 double compartments with upper and lower bunks, an armchair, a bathroom and a washbasin.

Econom-class train

This is the most popular type of carriage due to the low ticket price. The carriage has 54 seats - 9 compartments with 6 beds each. Two top, two bottom and two side. There are no doors between the compartments; they are all connected by a common corridor. All the lower places are odd-numbered, and the upper ones are even-numbered.

Seats 37 to 54 are “side rooms”, they are shorter than the seats in a block of 4. Seats 33 to 38 are located near the toilet. The slamming of the door leading to the corridor and unpleasant odors may interfere here.

The windows in the third (seats 9-12) and sixth (seats 21-24) compartments do not open. This is true for older trains without air conditioning. In new trains the ventilation works fine.

Usually there are two toilets in the carriage, and there is titanium with boiling water for making tea. Each compartment is equipped with tables; on the sides there is a table and two seats if you fold out the bottom bunk. The reserved seat has a lot of space for luggage - there are compartments under the lower seats and third shelves.

In a fully occupied reserved seat it can be stuffy and cramped (especially in the side seats). Second-class carriages in branded trains are cleaner and more comfortable: there is air conditioning and a dry closet, and more sockets.

Service options in Grand Service Express trains

TC "GSE", founded in 2002, was the first private company to receive the right to transport passengers on Russian railways. The company specializes in charter flights for VIP clients in Grand de Luxe carriages. Grand Service Express employees serviced trains traveling not only through Russia, but also the CIS and Baltic countries. Also, trains of this carrier regularly run on the route Moscow - St. Petersburg - Moscow.

Since December, the company began servicing railway connections with Crimea using Tavria trains on two routes:

  • Moscow – Simferopol – Moscow;
  • St. Petersburg – Sevastopol – St. Petersburg.

SV cars

There are two categories in the category: 1F and 1T. What they have in common is an air conditioning system and modern toilets in the carriage, as well as the provision of clean linen. The differences are that in class 1 F it is allowed to transport pets, but in class 1 T it is not possible. However, 1T passengers are given sanitary and hygiene kits, and meals are included in the ticket price.

Compartment carriages

There are also 2 tariffs in the category: 2T and 2U. The carriages have air conditioning and dry closets, and passengers are provided with bedding sets. In carriages 2U you are allowed to take animals with you, but in carriages 2T you are not allowed to take them with you, but they give you bags with a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap, and also feed you on a schedule.

Second-class carriages

There is only one class of service marked 3E. Clients can expect shared dry toilets and air conditioning. Animals are not allowed inside.

“Grand” series – luxury carriages

The unique comfortable carriages of the Grand series with their interiors resemble a cozy hotel rather than a train. The service is top notch, including everything you need to ensure your trip hassle-free. Within the Grand Express train there are several types of cars with the Grand prefix:

  • Imperial - 1I;
  • Imperial Single – 1H;
  • de Luxe – 1A (4-5 compartments);
  • Grand – 1M (6 compartments);
  • Single – 1G.

The marking of luxury trains of this series indicates, rather, not the class of service, but the design of the car, since the list of services in all types of grand cars is almost the same:

  • The compartment has all the amenities: personal toilet with shower, sink and toilet with bidet, air conditioning, TV, safe, Wi-Fi, 200 Volt sockets;
  • Wide bed 110 cm wide;
  • Passengers are provided with bed linen, slippers, a choice of magazines, a wash kit, and access to a multimedia portal.
  • The ticket price includes meals; meals are brought to your room on porcelain dishes. There is a children's menu and special devices for the safety of children. Guests can also order tea, coffee, juices and water without restrictions.
  • A special service is taxi transfer. Plus, upon request, the conductor can prepare a business suit for the exit.

Traveling in such conditions, you won’t even notice how the hours fly by on the way.

Premium Series 1E and 1L

Here you will find common air conditioning and toilets in the carriage, a cozy and comfortable interior. Each compartment has:

  • Wash basin;
  • 220 Volt sockets;
  • TV.

Premium class passengers are provided with slippers, washing and teeth cleaning kits, linen, newspapers, access to a multimedia portal and Wi-Fi, taxi transfer, and hot meals according to a set menu.

1 class

The carriages of this category have general air conditioning, dry closets, 220 Volt sockets, and Wi-Fi. Passengers of the Basic tariff (1D) are entitled to linen, access to a multimedia portal and the ability to watch TV. At the Standard (1U) tariff, slippers, food and a sanitary and hygiene kit are added to this list of services. The Business tariff (1B) includes all of the above, plus taxi transfer.

Economy

Economy carriages have three service options:

  • Additional (2L) – shared toilets and air conditioning, provision of bed linen;
  • Basic (2K) – a TV, access to a media portal, sockets, Wi-Fi are added to the set above;
  • Comfort (2E) – in addition to the basic set, the passenger will receive hot meals, slippers, a morning hygiene kit, and newspapers.

General carriage

Typically this is a reserved seat carriage with three seats on each bottom bunk, including the lower side ones. This car has several serious disadvantages.

Firstly, reserved seat berths are not suitable for long-term sitting - due to the lack of a soft backrest and headrest. Secondly, it creates a feeling of closeness - there are no armrests separating people from each other. Finally, in most cases, in a general carriage, all tickets are sold without a seat - whoever got there first took the best seats.

This is the least comfortable type of carriage, but it also has the cheapest ticket.

Buying tickets

If a passenger decides to travel in carriages of this class, then purchasing a ticket will not be an obstacle for him: tickets can be purchased at the station ticket office or without leaving home.

What is a car on a train?

Russian Railways website

Despite this, each carrier has considered it its duty to create personalized websites for purchasing tickets. Their capabilities are no different from those of the Russian Railways website. The only advantage will be a less extensive list of trains when choosing. You can view the resources here: and Grand Express.

SV coupes have always been considered one of the most prestigious. Taking into account modern technologies and services, we can confidently say that the passenger will spend his trip without noticing any restrictions or inconveniences. If he values the time spent traveling, then he will definitely choose it, because now he knows everything about SV: what comfort and decent service are.

Compartment carriage

A compartment carriage usually has 32 or 36 seats, divided into compartments of four seats each. There are carriages with 38 seats, where seats 37–38 are double compartments. The bottom places are odd, and the top places are even. The compartments are isolated from each other and are locked. There are folding chairs in the common corridor.

The compartment has a mirror, a table, hangers and hooks for clothes, as well as a night lamp for each passenger. Unlike the reserved seat, the compartment does not have a third shelf - it is replaced by a niche for luggage under the ceiling. Therefore, you can sit freely on the top bunk in the compartment.

Coupes are one of the most popular types of carriages due to the combination of price and comfort. There are fewer people in the carriage, extraneous conversations do not interfere, and personal belongings are safe. The compartment car, similar to the reserved seat car, has two toilets and titanium. But in a compartment there are fewer queues for the toilet compared to a reserved seat, since significantly fewer passengers travel in such a carriage.

Often, during promotions, the upper bunks in a compartment can be purchased at the price of a reserved seat. In some carriages, when purchasing a ticket, you can choose the type of compartment. Both men and women can travel in a mixed compartment, but only women can travel in a women's compartment. The type of compartment is determined by the passenger who first bought the ticket.

Luxury coupe in Tavria

Maximum level of comfort - Lux

Here you are absolutely protected from random fellow travelers. Such carriages are used by management, high-ranking officials, and people with personal privileges. This category is usually called VIP persons.

Everything in the carriage is of the highest class, so the price is also high. But this is not SV! Don't be confused. This is a Suite, the most complete, comfortable Suite.

If you are a well-known politician, a popular show business star, or a major businessman, then the Suite with the following set of services is perfect for you:

  • separate bedroom;
  • increased (sometimes 2 times) compartment area;
  • minibar with alcoholic drinks;
  • plasma TV;
  • improved set of hygiene supplies;
  • comfort of the bathroom - shower and vacuum toilet.

Comfort in the Luxury carriage at the highest level

It’s very pleasant to travel in such a carriage, and as for the price, you don’t have to be a star, politician or oligarch. If you plan your trip in advance and buy tickets in advance within the maximum time allowed for this, then there is a high probability that you will be given a significant discount upon purchase.

Luxury car (SV)

SV is a sleeping car. It has from 8 to 10 compartments with 2 berths, both located below. There are suites (SV) with an upper and lower seat, but in such a compartment there are also only 2 seats. The standard suite has 18 seats. Luxury (SV) is more comfortable than a compartment car, since it does not have upper shelves. The lower shelves have a soft backrest for sitting.

In terms of the level of service, the SV is better than a compartment car - the suite usually has a button to call the conductor, air conditioning, and some trains also have a TV. Depending on the carrier company, passengers are provided with a different range of services (food, drinks, amenity kit, newspapers, linen).

Luxury (SV) is convenient for a family or romantic trip, when you can buy the entire compartment. The main disadvantage of SV is the price of travel. It is usually 3-4 times higher than in a reserved seat, and 1.5-2 times higher than in a compartment. A trip to NE will cost more than an air ticket for the same distance.

Luxury car (SV) "FPK"

What advantages does the CB 1E coupe have?

The rule for purchasing an entire coupe also applies to this SV class. The range of services here is similar to business class; in addition, 1E compartments have VIP status and are equipped with:

  • shower and dry closet;
  • plasma TV;
  • individual sockets;
  • safe with several keys;
  • shoe care products.

These are the super conditions your train trip can take place in. And then even the longest journey will not become tiring, provided that you pay for comfort.

You too can travel in such a cool VIP carriage

Soft carriage

A soft carriage can have 4, 5 or 6 compartments. The layout of the compartment itself and its furnishings also vary greatly. Each compartment has 1 or 2 beds. If there are two seats, then the bottom one is a sofa that converts into a 120 cm wide bed. The compartments themselves are similar to a luxury suite, but have a larger area.

The soft carriage is equipped at the level of a 3-4-star hotel: each compartment has a dry closet, washbasin, shower, air conditioning, TV, soft sofa and armchair. Here you will be provided with a hot breakfast, a shower kit, a bathrobe and terry towel, and the latest newspapers. Soft carriages are equipped with a bar.

The downside is the high price, significantly higher than the cost of a plane ticket.

Soft carriage interior

What it is?

What kind of carriage is this? Explanation: a generally accepted abbreviation for a sleeping car, previously in pre-revolutionary Russia - Svitsky.

This is a sleeping car that provides transportation of passengers in conditions of increased comfort.

The concept of “increased comfort” includes a smaller number of beds (their number can be from 1 to 3), comfortable soft shelves, a dressing room for storing clothes, basic and individual (for reading) lighting, etc. The space is divided into 9 double compartments, the number of seats is 16 or 18.

What is included? On branded trains, the equipment and range of services provided to passengers may vary. In particular, the compartment can be equipped with a bathroom, safe and TV, and the ticket price includes not only the provision of bed linen, but also hygiene items and food.

According to the classification, it belongs to the SV (Lux) category, and is marked as a 1st class carriage.

Important! The classification of categories includes Luxury (Soft), also classified as 1st class, which creates some confusion for passengers. They imply a higher level of comfort, and it is for them that the term “Luxury” is more suitable, which will be used in the future.

International carriage with 4-seater compartments

In terms of comfort, four-seater compartments on international routes are similar to ordinary compartment cars on the territory of the Russian Federation. But, as a rule, new carriages travel abroad, so they have many pleasant little things.

Another compartment in such a carriage can turn into a luxury if you raise the upper shelves. Depending on the route, the carriage may have a shared shower, the compartment may have air conditioning, individual lighting for each seat and sockets.

Hello friends! We are dealing with an interesting topic - SV on a train. What is this - NE places? What class, what level of comfort, what services are provided by default and which are ordered for an additional fee.

A train ride is always romantic. But comfort plays an important role.

It is important to know, because tickets for the SV carriage are not cheap, so you need to understand what we are paying money for. If we talk about the CIS countries, then in comparison with the compartment, which is also considered to some extent comfortable, the SV is 2 times more expensive, and the Ukrainian railways offer a cost even higher at 2 and a half.

SV carriages belong to the first comfort class, capable of carrying 16 or 18 passengers plus a single compartment - the conductor’s workplace. On international flights, the carriage is equipped with 22 seats or 33. The first option assumes the presence of exclusively 2-seater compartments, the second - 3-seater compartments.

International carriage with 3-seater compartments

Some international trains have three-berth compartments. There are a total of 33 seats in this carriage. In the compartment, all three berths are located below each other on one side. Such coupes can be used as two-seaters - the middle shelf remains in the raised position.

They are smaller in size than 4-seater coupes and can feel cramped. When there are three passengers in it, they are all forced to sit or lie down together, since it is impossible to sit with the middle bunk lowered. Therefore, carriages with 3-seater compartments are now used very rarely.

It is pleasant to drive in such a coupe only if you buy all three seats together and raise the middle shelf. Among the amenities, they may have (but not all compartments have) an armchair, a table, a washbasin and a wardrobe.

FPK service classes

Federal Passenger Company services most routes longer than 200 km. It has at its disposal luxury, SV, RIC, coupe, reserved seat, seated carriages, multiple unit rolling stock and general carriages. In this kit you can choose from several levels of service.

For your convenience, a comparative table of the list of services is presented for each class of cars.

Lux (1A, 1I, 1M)

Luxury cars come in different layouts. There can be from 4 to 6 compartments inside. Models with 4 compartments have a lounge bar.

A luxury compartment is larger in size than a regular one, and in cars with 6 compartments the area is 1.5 times larger, and in cars with 4 compartments - 2 times. Each compartment has two comfortable sleeping places:

  • A sofa that, with a slight movement of the hand, turns into a bed 1.2 m wide;
  • The shelf at the top is 0.9 m wide.

There is also a folding table and an armchair inside.

Some compartments are equipped with their own air conditioning, dry closet, washbasin, shower, and TV. Passengers are given a sanitary and hygiene kit, fresh newspapers, bed linen, and given access to a multimedia portal. Pets can be transported in these compartments.

1A (4+bar)+++++++++++
1I (5)+++++++++++
1M (6)+++++++++++

SV or RIC (double)

These are carriages with 8-9 double compartments with 2 places to sleep, with an air conditioning system and a dry closet. The exception is Strizh trains of categories 1E, 1E and 1T, where these amenities are available in all compartments, in addition to showers, TV, meals and other services. The main difference from the suites is the absence of washbasins and television in the compartments.

The widest range of services is provided in cars 1B, 1E and 1E: dry toilets, fresh linen, newspaper, multimedia portal, transportation of animals, meals, sanitary and hygiene kit.

Compartment carriages

In such carriages with 8-9 compartments, marked with the letter “K”, each compartment behind the door has 4 shelves for 4 passengers. Inside, there are 9 compartments as standard. The lower shelves are numbered with odd numbers.

The compartment cars have two toilets in different parts. Each compartment must have a mirror, hooks for bags and clothes on the walls, a lock on the door, and a night light near each place. In single-decker trains there are upper niches; in double-decker trains, luggage can only be placed under the lower shelves.

Reserved seat

Familiar to most Russians, reserved seat carriages are spaces with open compartments with 4 berths and side double berths, separated by a long corridor. Russian Railways has carriages with two toilets on opposite sides and older versions with only one toilet. Number of seats – 54.

The list of amenities is not long: reserved seat passengers only have access to a general air conditioning system, which only works in the summer, dry toilets and transportation of animals. Moreover, in some types of reserved seat even these services are limited.

However, any passenger who has purchased a reserved seat can order an additional meal service or go to dine in a special dining car.

In old cars there are a couple of sockets for everyone, in new models there are 3-4 sockets for the entire car.

Seated carriages

On tickets, such carriages with soft seats are marked with the letter “C”. All cars of this type available to Russian Railways are divided into two groups: with improved (up to 50 seats) and with standard seat layout (50-70 pieces). The service classes of the first group of cars have the number 1 at the beginning of the code, the second – the number 2.

Each carriage has 2 toilets at different ends.

A distinctive feature of this category is the service of providing a blanket, but it is implemented only in 4 classes out of 12. Newspapers are distributed in two classes, and access to a media portal is provided in six.

Motorized rolling stock

This category includes interregional Lastochka trains and other electric and diesel trains with seats and benches. The number of seats is determined by the car model. The key difference between this train and the usual one is the presence of cars equipped with their own engines. In ordinary cars, they do not move independently.
